Perils
of a Mariner's Life (Notes)
Return to abstracts
The documents on this page are abstracts
by Keddie/Keddie of the Family Tree Bookshop.
The title before each abstracts indicates the printed volume from the Family
Tree Bookshop.
These volumes may not be yet uploaded to Maryland and Delaware Genealogy.com.
Abstracting wills, land records and other documents is sometimes tedious.
(One can only type "to my wife" and "to my son"
without getting somewhat bored)
But Neil and I view each document with the thought that this is the document
that
may complete someone's research. We look at each document as if that document
belonged to our ancestor. We try to provide the researcher with all the
pertinent
information contained in the document.
A good deposition is one of the joys of abstracting. Depositions (while
usually not containing
genealogical information) give the reader a look into the life of our ancestors.
You may not be related
to any of the seafarers presented in these depositions; but reading these
accounts may give
you insight into the perils involved in a mariner's life.
I plan to present other abstracts that give "a slice of life" account.
Perhaps death bed scenes.
I love death bed scenes.
